The first and last beta release of CAMSEG 2.0 has been released, along with version 1.99.94 of libCAMSEG. The application name has been changed to CAMSEG SCM (Sales Campaign Manager), to allow more apps to have the CAMSEG name in them too (like CAMSEG POS). It’s also more clear for the users to remember Sales Campaign Manager than just an unknown word.
This first release brings a lot of major features in the app, like :
- Stock Management support (inventory, deliveries, suppliers)
- Support for Taxes, Stock Adjustments, Cash Adjustments, and others
- Vendor Pay
- A totally re-written UI and back-end
- A new icon theme
- A new file format (old campaigns can still be opened with this version)
- More infos fields about Campaign Objects (customers, vendors, etc.)
- A dynamic Report Language
- And others …
First oval, sorry for the long delay between the release of 1.2 and the upcoming 2.0, but I have been busy with final exams and work. Also, please note that version 1.3 has been canceled. Major bugs and inconsistencies were found in the release and I was working o too much versions (1.3 CAMSEG & CWI,libCAMSEG 2.0, CAMSEG GUI 2.0, CWI 2.0), so I decided to focus on 2.versions only. A few development version have already been released, but a lot of new stuffwas introduced in the past weeks, such as stock management, vendor pay, etc.
I also decided to re-think the UI of CAMSEG for 2.0. It will still work with tabs as 1.x, but with major improvements (see the screenshot below). It’s still long to get everything back in the release, so the next GUI release (2.0 Beta 1) should be avaible in about 2 weeks. I will also release another snapshot of libCAMSEG 2.0 in the next few days to show you the new features.
Current state of CAMSEG GUI v2 :
Version 1.2.99 of CAMSEG (1.3 Release Candidate) has been released. This is the first release of CAMSEG 1.3. All the features planned are now done. The next version (final) will only focus on bug fixes. A lot of new features, such as suppliers, taxes and new reports have been added to this new version. For more details, just look at the change log.
To download this version, you need to select “Browse All Packages” from the “Download” menu. There, you select the “CAMSEG 1.2″ release. Please note that it’s still a RC version, so there can be bugs left.Version 1.2 is strongly recommended for a normal usage.
The final release of 1.3 should be available in about 1 week.

The release schedule of CAMSEG 1.3 has been changed. Due to some ‘mess’ in the back-end, a version 2.0 of CAMSEG with a new, cleaned and improved back-end has been planned. CAMSEG 1.3 is still the next release, but it will contain less features than planned. Also, there won’t be any Beta version, only a RC and a Final. Version 1.3 will still add several new features, such as :
- Support for taxes
- Support for multiple suppliers
- More detailed information about the campaign organization
- Better Invoices and Final Order reports
- Bug fixes

Note that the back-end will not be in the front-end anymore. A separate library (libCAMSEG) will be created, and will be used by the front-end. Also, the Web Interface will now be object oriented, with a PHP separate back-end too. This separation between the back-end and front-end will create a flexible API to use , to ultimately being able to create alternatives front-ends for different usages. Ex: it will be possible to use CWI backend in an existing website, just having to use the methodes of the backend and integrate them into the website, without having to use the default CWI Interface.
Version 1.2 of CAMSEG – “Gray Wolf” has been released. This is the final release of CAMSEG 1.2. Since the Release Candidate, bugs have been corrected, and a help system has been created. It’s not yet finished, but a 1.2.1 version will soon be available with the complete help system.
Major changes in this version since CAMSEG 1.1:
- Support for database (MySQL) based campaigns
- Added a Web Interface (CWI) to CAMSEG, which can be used by customers to order directly from theirs homes. This system is fully integrated in CAMSEG, using the new ‘CWI Manager’ module.

- Option to modify users privileges
- UI improvements
- Added new ways to select customers, vendors and products in the New Order dialog
- It’s now possible to import models in an existing campaign

This is a stable release, recommended for a daily usage. Everyone should upgrade to this new version. Please note that IDs now start at 1 not at 0, and previous version’s campaigns will be converted to this new system when using CAMSEG 1.2.

Version 1.1.93 of CAMSEG (1.2 Beta 3) has been released. This is the third release of CAMSEG 1.2. Almost all the features planned are now done. The next version will focus on small UI changes and bug fixes. This version is also much more usable than 1.1.92, thanks to bug fixes. Also, the ‘Driver not loaded’ bug on windows is now solved. That means it’s now possible to manage database-based campaigns in Windows. Other changes affect the CWI manager module and CWI. For more details, just look at the change log.

The main goal of this release is to improve the Reports part of CAMSEG. This part had only received small changes in the previous releases, so I decided to have this part updated for this release.

Version 1.1.92 of CAMSEG (1.2 Beta 2) has been released. This is the second release of CAMSEG 1.2. All the big work for 1.2 is done, what is left to do is mostly lots of small fixes and features. This version is much more usable than 1.1.91. CWI cannot be configured and uploaded from a simple wizard in CAMSEG. The dialog to create a campaign has been changed : it’s now a wizard, much more easier to use. Database campaigns can also be created from this wizard. Another addition is the CWI Manager, a new module to manage CWI from CAMSEG. For more details, just look at the change log.

Version 1.1.91 of CAMSEG (1.2 Beta 1) has been released. This is the first release of CAMSEG 1.2. It’s the first beta version, so it doesn’t contains all the features planned for 1.2 Final. The main new changes is the support of a database back-end to save campaigns (MySQL), the beginning of the Web Interface (CWI) and a change in the way IDs are managed. Note that there is still no UI to create campaigns in a database, so the .cam file and the database has to be made by hand. These will come in Beta 2 (1.0.92) along with the CWI manager module and more functionalities in CWI.
